Perhaps the most important of the tourist asset of Mykonos, that distinguish it from other islands are the beaches. Here are without doubt the most – and best – to be found . Particularly in the South, the picturesque coves with sandy beaches follow one another. Those beaches, can be reached by car or motorbike, since the radial roads of the island starting from the Mykonos town stretches nearly to each corner. Precisely because of that particular road network in the island, many Southern beaches are linked with each other with a boat operating on a regular service, all day all summer, which offers the visitor a very interesting excursion opportunity. Starting someone from Mykonos town (at the port of which there is a small beach that many holidaymakers and city residents prefer, because of convenience) and directed to the south, will meet with the series follows the popular beaches.

Agios Ioannis Beach

Agios Ioannis Beach is said to be one of the most scenic Mykonos Beaches. Furthermore, it is well known for the shooting of the movie Shirley Valentine. Agios Ioannis is a small sandy beach with an amazing view of Delos Island and a picturesque little white chapel adding a unique feel of Greek tradition.

Agios Stefanos Beach

Agios Stefanos is one of the most popular Beaches in Mykonos, as it is the closest beach from Mykonos Town (Chora), next to the new port of Mykonos. Agios Stefanos is an ideal beach in Mykonos during the windy days, as it protects from heavy wind and furthermore offers various water sports facilities, tavernas and cafes.

Agrari Beach

Agrari Beach is an ideal beach for visitors who do not like the big crowds, as it is quiet an isolated beach in Mykonos. Agrari Beach is located nexto to Elia Beach, forming a long sandy beach. Agrari is a very popular beach among nudists and people who look for a peaceful and calm natural setting for swimming and sunbathing.

Elia Beach

Elia Beach is the largest beach in Mykonos Island and the most popular beach among nudists and gay audience. Elia Beach is protected from the northern winds and offers magnificent views of Naxos Island. This long sandy beach is considered among best Mykonian Beaches and offers a few beach bar/restaurants, in a calming, natural setting.

Fokos Beach

Fokos Beach is one of the last virgin beaches in Mykonos Island. This beach is actually a small sandy cove, fully sheltered from the winds and is ideal for visitor who wish to avoid big crowds, as it is one of the very few non organized beaches in Mykonos, without sunbeds and umbrellas. However, there is a traditional Greek Taverna catering the visitors.

Ftelia Beach

Ftelia Beach is one of the most famous beaches of Mykonos Island, especially for windsurfers and kitesurfers, as it is usually quite windy. Ftelia Beach is also well-known for the Neolithic settlement found there which is believed to be the tomb of the Iliad Hero, Ajax the Locrian. Ftelia Beach is very popular among locals and usually is not very crowded. It is a quiet beach, recommended for couples and families.

Kalafatis & Agia Anna Beaches

Kalafatis and Agia Anna Beaches in Mykonos are located next to to each other, forming a little peninsula and they are both sandy beaches. Kalafatis is one of the longest beaches of Mykonos and Agia Anna is a small and scenic sandy beach, right after Kalafatis Beach.

Kalo Livadi Beach

Kalo Livadi is one of the longest beaches in Mykonos and one of the most popular for its water sports, facilities and entertainment. Furthermore, it is usually preferred by families and offers soft, golden sands with exotic turquois waters.

Kapari Beach

This is one of the last remaining non-organized beaches in Mykonos without umbrellas and sunbeds. It is a small and scenic beach with the traditional chapel of Saint Ioannis behind it. Kapari is a very quiet beach, ideal for visitors who look for calmness next to the sea.

Korfos Beach

Korfos is the most popular beach in Mykonos for kite surfers and the least popular for swimmers. Just a few minutes walk away from Ornos Beach, Korfos provides all necessary facilities for kite surfers and strong winds as well.

Lia Beach

Lia is on of the well-organized beaches in Mykonos, however not usually crowded, offering umbrellas with sunbeds. Furthermore, there are a couple of restaurants and beach bars catering this sandy beach in Mykonos.

Megali Ammos Beach

Megali Ammos is the closest beach from Mykonos Town and usually protected by the winds. It offers soft sand and exotic colored waters. It is a non-organized beach and there is a little traditional Greek Taverna there as well.

Mersini Beach

Situated next to Fokos Beach, Mersini is one of the quietest beaches in Mykonos and preferred by nudists as well. This is a secluded beach, ideal for visitors who wish to remain away from the crowds.

Ornos Beach

Ornos fishing village has been rapidly developing during the last years and at the moment is one of the most cosmopolitan Mykonian Beaches, with numerous beach bars, beach restaurants and beach cafes, ideal for groups of friends and young crowds.

Panormos & Agios Sostis Beaches

These two adjacent beaches are very famous among the local Mykonians and they usually attract families and couples. They are usually not very crowded and catered by local café/tavernas.

Paradise Beach & Super Paradise Beaches

Paradise and Super Paradise are adjacent beaches, offering exotic colored waters, soft sand and the biggest beach parties and nightlife of Mykonos Island. Worldly known beach bars and nightclubs are located here! These beaches are very popular among young people, or people who feel young!

Paranga Beach

Consisted by two little coves, Paranga is one of the most scenic beaches in Mykonos, offering soft sand, umbrellas with sunbeds and numerous Greek Taverns, therefore it is a very popular beach among tourists.

Platis Gialos Beach

Platis Gialos is the most famous family beach in Mykonos and one of the most organized beaches of Mykonos, offering numerous beach restaurants, beach cafes/bars and shops along the seacoast.

Psarrou Beach

Psarrou Beach is globally known as the most cosmopolitan beach of Mykonos, attracting a lot of celebrities and v.i.p. people among the globe! Furthermore, it is catered by an exclusive upper class beach bar/restaurant.
